Energy and Opto-Electronic Materials Research Center
The Energy and Opto-Electronic Materials Research Center, established in 2007, is a multidisciplinary research facility located at TKU’s College of Engineering. The research activities focus on the applications of renewable energy technologies and the development of new optoelectronic materials. The expertise of Chemical Engineering and Materials Engineering faculty, as well as faculty members from other departments on campus, support the center’s three major efforts:
1. Research on renewable energy and advanced composite materials, processing and design.
2. Support of graduate and undergraduate education in the science and engineering of energy and materials.
3. Transfer of renewable energy and composites technologies to industry through seminars, short courses and cooperative research.
The research outcomes can accelerate the progress of energy-related technologies such as solar collectors, solar cells, solar photovoltaic/thermal hybrid systems and optoelectronic modules. |
