Travel Information
1. From Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport (TPE):
1) By Taxi:
Airport taxi stands are located outside the Arrival Halls of the two Terminals. Taxis are available there 24 hours a day. They charge according to the meter, with a 15% surcharge to the metered total (highway tolls not included). Your taxi can go all the way to Tamkang University or stop at a station along MRT Tamsui Line (Tamsui-bound) for you to transfer. In the latter case, you get off at the terminal station, Tamsui station, and then take a taxi or Bus R27 or R 28 to the Tamsui Campus of the University. A taxi ride from Taoyuan International Airport takes about one hour to get to Tamkang Unversity. (Recommended if carrying heavy luggage).
2) By Public Transportation System:
a) After clearing the airport checkpoint, follow the signs to get to the bus station. Take a Taipei City-bound bus there and get off at Taipei Main Station or any station along the MRT Tamsui Line (for more information, check the Airport’s webpage about buses here). Then take the MRT Tamsui Line (Tamsui-bound) to Tamsui Station, the terminal station (for more information, check Metro Taipei’s website). From there, take Bus R27 or R 28 to the Tamsui Campus (bus fare NT$15 per person). Alternatively, you may take a taxi after getting off at Tamsui Station. The taxi ride should take about 5 minutes. You are advised to purchase an Easycard or TaipeiPass at Taipei Main Station or any other MRT station. It would be cheaper and more convenient to move around in Taipei with one card in hand.
b) After clearing the airport checkpoint, follow the signs to the bus station. Get on a bus bound for Taoyuan HSR (High Speed Rail) Station and, after getting off at the HSR Station there, take a Taipei-bound HSR train to Taipei Main Station. Then take the MRT Tamsui Line (Tamsui-bound) to Tamsui Station. For the rest of the journey to Tamkang University, follow the instructions above. This is the quickest way to travel to the University.
2. From Taipei Songshan International Airport (TSA):
1) By Taxi:
Taxis can be found queuing outside the Terminal. Taxis charge according to the meter, with a 15% surcharge.
2) By Public Transportation System:
